About BridgeBack
We were founded on a simple belief: that every person — regardless of their past — deserves a genuine path to economic stability and dignity.
Born from a Gap That Couldn't Be Ignored
BridgeBack Workforce Solutions was founded in 2026 by Vanessa Gilbert, who had spent years watching capable, motivated individuals fail to find stable employment not because of a lack of effort, but because of a lack of support.
Vanessa, an RN Nurse, had seen individuals leave incarceration with no job prospects, no housing stability, and no community to return to. She watched program after program fail to address the real barriers people faced — the legal records, the gaps in work history, the absence of professional networks.
Vanessa built BridgeBack to be different: a place where the whole person is seen, where barriers are addressed directly, and where the goal is not just employment — but lasting economic stability and self-determination.
Our Legal Status
BridgeBack Workforce Solutions is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. EIN: 84-XXXXXXX
Our Mission
To provide workforce development, job readiness training, reentry support services, educational programs, mentoring, and supportive resources to individuals transitioning into the workforce — including those impacted by incarceration, economic hardship, or barriers to employment.
Our Vision
A community where every person — regardless of their past — has access to the tools, relationships, and opportunities needed to build a stable, self-determined economic future. Where second chances are not the exception, but the expectation.
Our Core Values
Dignity First
Every person who walks through our doors is treated with unconditional respect. We design our programs around the whole person — not just their employment status.
Radical Transparency
We are honest about what we can and cannot do, how we use our resources, and how we measure success. Our participants and donors deserve nothing less.
Community Accountability
We are accountable to the communities we serve — not just our funders. Our board, staff, and programs reflect the people we work alongside.
Relentless Advocacy
We don't just help individuals navigate broken systems — we work to change them. Workforce equity is a justice issue, and we show up accordingly.
